After conducting several tests, using other overlay materials, polymer cement made with ULTRA SURFACE ® CONCRETE POLYMER by Concrete Solutions came out on top and was selected to be used on the concrete resurfacing part of a 15 million dollar Historic Shelby Street Bridge revitalization project. The historic steel span bridge was originally constructed in 1908 in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Fuller Industries, Inc. was selected as the contractor for the project in which 25,000 square feet of concrete was resurfaced in a broom finish polymer cement made with ULTRA SURFACE ® CONCRETE POLYMER; then, sealed with ULTRA SURFACE SEALCOAT 1000. Closed to vehicular traffic in 1998, this pedestrian-only bridge connects east Nashville to downtown Nashville and provides a beautiful addition to the Nashville skyline.
